QiYoga Conception

The inception of QiYoga

We are all increasingly aware of the pressures and stresses in our daily lives, not only mental but physically. I developed the QiYoga® affirmation ‘Powerful body, Powerful Mind’ in 2010 and this underlines to me the amazing benefits I would like to bring to you through a regular practice.  These benefits will filter through all areas of your life including health, work, relationships and sport. I am committed through QiYoga® and my dedication to natural living to bring these positive influences and enhancements into your life. I am the founder of QiYoga® and here is my story…

I grew up in sunny Perth Western Australia with my two amazing siblings where I dreamed big about making a difference in the world.

My goal and motivation in life has always been to boost people’s happiness and through my actions be a beacon of love and light to inspire others to follow their joy so they can be the change they wish to see in their lives.  In other words, actively assisting in the evolution of consciousness.

It was not until my fourth trip to Japan, where I was working as a translator, that I finally appreciated the amazing joy yoga could bring. At this stage of my life I was suffering from depression, was over-weight and suffered from low self-esteem.  I was fortunate to have met and trained privately with Los Angeles based yogini Donya Jenicke. Donya firmed the foundation of my life changing commitment to yoga. Yoga gave me the foundation in my life – I felt so much better and my life started to become more complete and positive. With this realisation I decided to embrace yoga in to my life both personally and professionally.

Upon my return to Australia I trained as a Hatha Yoga teacher and when I had completed the five year yoga teacher training pre-requisite of FINY (Friends in Yoga: run by Cherry Ray) whom I intensively trained with then began teaching Hatha Yoga in Perth, Australia full time in 2003.

In March 2004, I brought my Hatha yoga teaching to London. Initially I was teaching part time as I wanted to also use my degree (I have a triple major degree in Political Science, Japanese and Asian Studies). Whilst working as a Japanese medical translator at Ravenscourt Park Hospital London for Johnson & Johnson I realised that although I was now a yoga teacher, I still do not know how to heal my body through yoga. For many years I had been fascinated by, deliberated over and been intrigued as to how to utilise the wisdom of the Universe to heal the body, as demonstrated to us through many civilisations throughout history. Through extensive research I discovered there are many universal secrets encoded in ancient manuscripts outlining how to maximise health and wellbeing and it was through this study and meditation that I was guided toward Qigong.

During 2004 I passionately studied and trained in Qigong for one year and it was through my daily practice of Qigong and Hatha Yoga that I was able to feel and experience optimum health and happiness. I was overwhelmed that I had healed myself of an incurable disease, depression, acne, insomnia and more… I wanted to share this with as many people as possible and...

So began the creation of QiYoga®

Launched in 2006 it has grown from strength to strength – bringing the benefits of an integrated health, fitness and energy practice to thousands of people across the globe.

I continued to develop the London business from the QiYoga® studios in Streatham, Battersea, West Norwood and Clapham Common.  I brought QiYoga® into the BBC, Virgin Active gyms, Fitness First gyms as well as prestigious health clubs across London.  It has been performed at the Mind Body Spirit Festival, London as well as The Yoga Show in London since 2007.

Things took a new turn in 2007 which saw a demand from my existing yoga students for yoga routines to help them fall pregnant.  I began researching and had my research papers on infertility and sub-fertility reviewed by London doctors who helped with additional preconception tips.  They also gave me an insight into the infertility and sub-fertility treatments western medicine offer.  I soon launched my “Conscious journey to motherhood” program to enhance fertility through specialised natural healing techniques from Tibet, China, Korea, India and the West for balancing the mind, the physical body and emotions.
